while checking the light

i find that i get some of  the most beautiful images while I’m “just checking the light” this is when the client is still at ease. before they..put on their camera face, one of the most difficult things for a person to do in front of a camera is to be natural. even in the increasingly popular posing techniques. images that make me interested in what the subject might be thinking seem to be the ones that captivate me the most.  our culture is a little obsessed with posing & fierce-ness. i can’t help but think that beauty is found & not produced, finding it in everything you see and everywhere you go is an adventure to appreciate. 

 

Memphis & Pooches in the Park!

Since pretty much the day we rescued memphis, we knew 1 thing we HAD TO DO!! Purina’s Pooches in the Park for a St Louis Cardinals baseball game.  In previous years it was really seen as Tony LaRussas deal, since he had the animal charity for dogs. We were heartbroken when he retired this year ( but totally understand!) we were worried they might not have doggie daze anymore.

 

THEN we found out that we get to combine the trip, we were going to go to St Louis for our first anniversary trip anyways and then we found out that the puppy day is June 16… our date is june 18th!! so meant to be!! not only that but we get to play the royals! the old hwy 71 series that was being played the month and year i was born! ( even tho stl lost it was still really cool!) my first MLB game was the royals and my 2nd was the cardinals, but I’m a STL girl all the way and Memphie ( that’s his nick name) is an STL dog!!
